My 05' S is being replaced by an 06' one next week, and I just wondered if the 06' ones have mud flaps as standard.
I realise xenons aren't as I have made sure they are on the new car as they are stunning and wouldn't be without them.

That's strange I thought HSE's were pretty much all in! Especially for something as pityful as mudflaps.

If you intend on going off road I wouldn't bother with mudflaps, they're far too rigid, you'll rip them off sooner or later. Hopefully LR or someone else will bring out a more flexible version at some point, I may have a go at making my own for now The End

Mines mostly for towing, and haven't ripped the ones I have on already. Just wondering whether I need to take them off this weekend to swap onto the new one, rather than paying for another set.
Have you run with/without to see how effective they are?

When I rejected my 05 HSE I took the mudflaps off before it went so I could put them on my new 06 HSE. They are fairly easy to remove and refit, the only thing is that the clearance for getting a screwdriver between the rear wheels and the mudflaps is pretty tight - although I managed it without removing the wheels.
I fitted them on my new car as soon as I got it home and I was amazed at how much spray had come from the wheels onto the car body for such a short trip. 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

I'd take them off, it'll save you the best part of £100
Doesn't seem to be too much difference with them off, a little more muck sprayed up the sides but nothing too significant. If they were quicker to remove I'd get a new set and take them off for off-roading, maybe making a 'quick release' version would be easier then making flexible ones The End

Sounds like a good plan slimmer. Maybe use some of the coin slotted things that hold the cover over the tow electrics

Those clips probably wouldn't be strong enough, but studs and R clips may do the job. I'll take a look when I get a mo
