17" Grabber AT2's - Anyone running these ?

Looking to see if anyone is running AT2's on the 17" rims.

If so, is there any rubbing as they are slightly wider than the stock 17" tyres fitted by LR.

cheers Thumbs Up

Hi,

I have these on my car and the only time I get an rubbing is when reversing with full lock.

Take a look at my gallery.

MPG dropped by around 3 to 4 after they were fitted but this has been the only down side.

I have to say I'm 100% happy with the on and off road performance.

Ah excellent... exactly what size did you fit ?

Still considering the 18's though, so may just go for these in a few weeks.

I've got the 18inch one since a week, and I must say they're fabulous! Thumbs Up

The ride is much softer, mpg seems unchanged, and the road noise is a bit higher (sounds more like the muds on my Def now Very Happy )
There's no rubbing with these, don't know about the 17inch ones though Whistle

I believe Chris Tyler is running the 265/70 R17 AT2 tyres.

I have just fitted a set of 255/60 R18's to a vehicle and i am told the on/off road performace is very good, though the drop in MPG was noticed! You'd expect that with any AT/MT tyre over a road bias tyre.

Obviously with the 17" rim you have a number of options available to you with Cooper ST & STT, BFG All-terrains and the General Grabbers. I have just heard that Kumo are doing an MT aswell.

This size does rub very slightly in extreme conditions but I don't beleive it is of any concern. After a few k miles on them they probably won't rub at all, or once the bit they're rubbing off on the vehicle has disappeared, it won't matter! Wink

Your speedo will be out though, as will MPG calculations. Your MPG will appear worse than it actually is, as the tyre is larger, and you'll be travelling more in reality than the speedo thinks.
