17" Rims - A thought

Noticed just now whilst cleaning the 17" rims I've got to put the Coopers on that they're made in Hungary. Would it be worth trying to track down the manufacturer and seeing if we can by direct? We have one or two hungarian members on here that may be able to help and if we can get hold of them even with customs and shipping charges they may still work out cheaper than LR sell them for

Just an idea, your thoughts please Ladies and Gents?

Before you start the imports, it seems I may have 4 x 17" D3 wheels for sale in the next 2 weeks. I have almost bought some 18" Style 1s. If successful i would be looking for around £500 for the 4. (I'm throwing the tyres in)

Roddy, I'd expect you'll have a PM from TFC very soon about them Wink

Why are you only changing 4? The 17" with standard tyre has a slighty different circumference to the 18" and 19". You really should change all 5 in case you have to use the spare for a extended period

The odds of having to run the spare for extended periods are pretty low. I will just treat it like a "space saver". Have checked with dealer etc, they say no problem. In any case I can only get 4 x18s at the moment. I can always look for an extra later.
I hope this does not mean altering the final drive etc re speedo accuracy!

I appreciate your concern.

Odd wheels on a proper 4x4 (not Bemmers and hopeful 4x4's) not a good idea even as a space saver.

Not much in it then. I'll stick with 17 spare, until I can afford the extra for the 18" spare.

many thanks for the info lads.
