I was surprised to see a 12,000 km first service interval but you fellows say 15,000 miles!

I was going to at least have an oil change done at 2k km.

Anybody had same idea

Yes, I did, but was told that because the engines are run in and the oil is fully synthetic it was not required.

I had occasion to call in at the workshop this morning re trailer electric brake wiring and fronted the service manager. He said that they wanted it back in a 5,000 km or earlier if it did some hard work.

That sounds a bit more like it as I was intending to have an oil and filter change at 3~4k anyhow.

i have to thank the wife for this one.
the company my wife works for entitled us for 3 years free servicing from the dealer ... i wonder what this equates to financially Very Happy
guess i don't have to worry about the costs of servicing ... just wear and tear Smile

keith - my service sticker says first service is 20000kms .... hmmm, may need to call LR direct to see what the real first service is then ! 2009 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 HSE

I recollect that the handbook says 12,000km bashir.

Service intervals vary around the world due to the quality of oils and fuels available and enviromental conditions the vehicle is driven in. In the UK we seem to the longest service interval, there again what we save by only needing a service every 15,000 miles or so I'm sure we pay out several times over with our excessive fuel prices Crying or Very sad The End

It is in the main because we have pretty good conditions and the vehicles rarely go off road. Also we use fully synthetic oils, which are excellent and very expensive.
