20 inch wheels on a D3

Hi all, just called into local stratstone dealership and noticed they had some 20inch wheels and tyres on offer for
£900, but when I inquired they said although they would fit a D3 you would lose your warranty as the D3 was not designed to run on 20inch wheels, is this correct?. Thanks Chris.

i would it very hard to believe that this is the case (!)!!!!!!!!!

Besides, i'm wary of Staverton Stratstone. I've never had a serious problem with them, but front of house talk a load of ol' tosh at times. The sales guys are painfully slow off the mark and the parts chap seems to need a rocket up the bum to actually do anything. When looking for my D3 I walked in there with cash in the bank to buy a D3 and they didn't want to know, quite literally, referred me to another Stratstone in brum. Most odd behaviour indeed.

I think if you developed any transmission problems with the 20" wheels on they may say that the wheels had caused the issue and it would be on you to prove them otherwise.

why would 20" alloys running a tyre of equivilent size (so, say a 274/45x20, which is the same as a 255/55x19, which is standard on a D3 HSE) cause a problem. Mud tyres are larger than standard road tyres, is your warrenty invalid with those on.

Some dealers are just a pain the preverbials

Load of rubbish, plenty on here with 20's and no problem with dealers.
One of the fellas at Reading even took pics of mine to show potential customers how cool they are!!
Bit of a bargain depending on wheel tyre combo, what were they?
