Not a happy bunny! J and I car sale who I bought the car from, told me the belts had been done and weren't due! But in fact going on the mileage they aren't due however going on the fact the belts were done in 2009 at 104000 miles, I would say the belts are now due! I have emailed the dealer to see what they say as I have asked them to pay for it. If they don't then I will have to hand over £695 all in at Terrain plus the £300 I am spending on the D2 fixing it which I didn't want to do and selling it for more fully fixed.

It wouldn't be soo bad if it was one Discovery calling out for attention, but both at the same time? Shocked

According to another thread on this site it was 105000 miles or 5 years I thought. Although Terrain advised the last owner the belts needed doing.

I understood belt change is 105K miles or 7 years and a number of threads support that, also servicing is annual or 15k miles & 7x15k = 105K. I know a number of owners carry out servicing more frequently as a precaution.

Well. Fault number 1 has already reared its ugly head Sad Suspension fault now displaying on the dash and terrain settings and height switch deactivated because of it too.

I had a panic moment as thought it might have been stuck in Entry Level Mode, but after posting pictures on facebook everyone seems to agree that it is in Standard level mode. As per the first picture on this reply.

I also added the clear indicators to the doors as the orange ones bugged the hell out of me. I also now have the rear head rests the right way too lol.

I still love the D3 more than the D2.

My fingers slipped when I was browsing Ebay and I bought these for £18.50 delivered. Ready to paint mirror covers that need to be stuck on the mirror.

Now I am going to try and behave myself and concentrate on the major stuff first, like the air suspension fault.

Glad to hear the D3 has finally grown on you disco-nut. If you manage to flog the blue Discovery, these guys do a pretty decent half-height dog guard. https://www.travall.co.uk/land-rover/travall-dog-guard-tdg1299

Update, My D2 finally sold, and my idle fingers drained my bank account a bit more and I have now bought a set of switches for cruise and audio control.

And the D3 is now in the garage having the air suspension looked at amongst a few other little issues all under warranty though. But they have given me a nasty little Honda Jazz courtesy car. Mouldy, smelly POS lol.

Really starting to miss my Land Rover. And not liking being stuck with a courtesy car that leaks exhaust fumes into the cabin, leaks petrol, has a knackered clutch and doesn't lock with brakes that make a scraping noise from the back end and bangs over every bump plus stinks of mould.

The courtesy car is now parked up and I have removed my insurance from it and refuse to drive it until I have to drive it 1 way back to the garage who own the P.O.S.

I hate Honda Jazz's more than ever after driving this one.

Not to mention the fact that only because I decided to be nosy about the MOT, I discovered that the garage forgot to tax it when the tax ran out in December 2014. So 2 days I drove it with no tax no knowing that, and then parked up for 1 day and then they taxed it Monday morning.

AND when I phoned the repair company Monday afternoon that have my D3 who told me it will hopefully be ready end of Friday or Saturday at the latest, after I dropped it off early Friday morning, that they hadn't managed to get it into the workshop yet!!! If I was paying for the repair I would have picked my car up and taken it elsewhere, but as it is under warranty, I am biting my tongue.
They have told me to call them Tuesday morning at 10am. And the stress of all this is keeping me from sleeping properly. Hence this reply is at such an odd hour lol.

And to rub it in, my D3 nudge bar arrived Monday afternoon too.

I really need my car back!

Something else that is really bugging me now, is we have 3 cars in the household still, but the Vectra is now off the road for sale as the D2 sold last week. And the other car that I bought as a present for my other half is gone 13 hours a day during the week so can't use it lol

But I now have 2 oval badged vehicles in the household.
Got my hands on a rare version of the Mondeo although some monkey at some point has taken the proper wheels for that model off and sold them and fitted basic alloys instead.

But I bought a 2004 Mondeo Zetec S TDCi Estate. Got it for £1000 under the book value as it was filthy inside and out, and the DMF is rattling. So got a £450 clutch bill coming up soon on the Mondeo. But love it all the same. Wish it was my other toy and not a prezzy for my other half lol. It is very quick and very comfy, low mileage too and came with a brand new MOT from a local Ford diesel specialist. No limp mode problems either.

Finally, 4 days of the garage being open and got a we think it is diagnosis lol

They think the suspension compressor pump is at fault. Unfortunately I forgot to put the warranty paperwork in the glove box, so I had to get a lift for a 2 hour round trip just to drop the paperwork off.

So fingers crossed the pump will be ordered and fitted asap. Although rather miffed at the pump being at fault as it was replaced in June 2014 with a brand new one by Terrain.

And all the bits and pieces I have bought for the D3 are gradually arriving. The Cruise Control and Audio controls arrived yesterday. Shame the car isn't here to fit them to.

I had a very surprising call yesterday. My car was fixed and ready to pick up. The suspension compressor has apparently been refurbished. Not bad hey! The compressor is 8 months old and has already had to be refurbished! I feel a bit cynical about that fact to be honest as I was told only 2 days ago that my car would take around a week to fix as the compressor needed to be sent off to the warranty company, and then returned and fitted.

But it's fixed so I am pleased. Now to plan the mods. Also I bought another little prezzie for the car too. I really hate the 17" alloys that are on it now, and I managed to get a great deal on a set of alloys from an SE Discovery 3 that are 19" and were the wheels I wanted. But 3 of the tyres are barely road legal so the wheel will be garden ornaments for a few months lol.

I thought the Land Rovers were meant to be money pits. At the moment the Mondeo is swallowing the most for repairs Evil or Very Mad

The alternator has just blown, so I have sourced a good used one that I have having to collect later today, and bought a Gates belt, pulleys and tensioner kit, so the Mondeo is off the road for a week and I am having to re-insure the Vectra SRi for the week and tax it so my other half has a car for work.

So now next weekend is going to be living hell. I have had to rent a garage for my projects which are stored at my parents, So next Saturday I am hoping my towbar will have arrived unless by miracle I find one in the car somewhere, so I will be towing my projects and renting a garage and fixing the Mondeo as well as fitting the cruise control and audio controls to the Disco providing I have bought the airbag tool in time and it has arrived in time lol

My new wheels definitely won't be going on for a few months as 3 of the tyres are dead. And the tyres I have on my current wheels are excellent, So I will use them first.

This week I am also having the rear windows tinted on the Disco. So it is all kicking off. And I will be helping a mate car hunt as he wants a SWB Shogun or Pajero.

On the plus side I took the towbar cover off and thank fully I have twin electrics there already.
