2006 LR3 (Disco3) HSE cruise contiol not working

The cruise control on my 2006 LR3 has been acting up. It worked intermitantly and now looks dead. When I hit the switch I can't get the cruise icon to light up nor does the cruise activate. There doesn't appear to be a dedicated fuse. I suspect a faulty cruise switch on the steering wheel or perhaps a bad clockspring. The stereo controls on the steering wheel are still functional. Anyone know the common failure points? Thanks.
Eric

Do a search on Clock Spring / Rotary Coupler. Its the same item, different wordings. Common fault when the Cruise has a fault, either by not tuning on, off, or failing once you try and up/down the speed.

Partially solved the problem. Best part is no $ involved. All the other steering wheel controls work so I was hoping it wasn't the rotary coupler.. I sprayed some electrical contact cleaner around the edges of the cruise buttons. After wiping up the mess I went for a drive. Still no cruise. I hit the buttons with a cleched fist and voila! I got cruise. Just had to show this LR3 who is boss. Very Happy

mines had same intermittant problem over a few weeks until sent into dealer under warranty. they fixed it by replacing the "spider" which I presume is in the steering wheel wiring harness.......

I am out of warranty and they want $600 CAN for the rotary coupler. I will just turn it on using the fist of fury for the time being..
