Hi All,
I joined a while ago, when my recently purchased D4 blew its engine... I'm now back (as is the car!) and hope to post on a more positive note!
I've had it back a year since the rebuild, and have put 16,000 miles on it. Touch wood all seems to be well, the car itself has been relatively problem free (again fingers crossed!!), aside from a restricted performance message which was resolved by cleaning the MAF and MAP sensors. I bought an Autel AP200 diagnostic device fairly swiftly. To be honest the cleaning of the MAFs and MAP was a stab in the dark problem solving of cheapest easiest option first. The AP200 confirmed a logged code for MAF sensor B, so thankfully my hunch was right.
Aside from that, I've got a creak-squeak noise from the offside front end. Changing ARB bushes didn't resolve, so need to do a bit more exploration. A chat with a specialist at a local Agricultural show reckoned lower arms, so it might well be them.
Last weekend me and a mate 2 stage mopped the paint and waxed and applied a light ceramic spray - proper ceramic coating to follow. It really revived the paint which was a little dulled, swirled, and scratched (narrow lanes to thank for that!)
I'm not afraid to get it dirty, but I'd rather the paint underneath the dirt is protected and will still look good after the dirt is washed off...
