It's a small price to pay for marital bliss.
Been there, done that. Three times.

The 09 disco 4 road tax band was one tier higher than the later year 2010 model.
The 2010 disco 4 scrapped a few grams through the next lowest CO2 road tax band.
Reason is I believe is the chassis went from steel to all aluminum. Lighter 4x4, so more efficient.

I heard wrong! Engine, transmission tweak? Better emissions.
That one tax band made the annual tax £250 cheaper.

2014 introduced stop/start to drop the tax down from £5xx to £3xx.
Is that what you were thinking of?

Just caught this thread, thought I would add my recent experience. Visited my local Jaguar dealers with regards checking out a low mileage 3.0lt F Pace in their possession (test.drive Thursday) Eplained I had. Late 2012 D4 Lux with 21800 miles FSH 8 speed few extras after a few checks with Hunters (my local dealer) and without even seeing it I was offered 29k. maybe up to 31k, boy was I a happy bunny. I was informed that our D4,s are beginning to fetch a very good premium and are beginning to be in demand as the D5 is not in favour.

I’m still waiting on the designers explaining that buyers are clearly wrong and looking like a box isn’t popular anymore....
