I've just been told that the 2011MY order I placed through a broker in March which was due to be delivered in 2 weeks isn't going to be built anymore ! Instead I'm going to get a 2012MY in October with a great discount (fingers crossed).
Has anyone got hold of a complete option price list (similar to this)?

Yes it's going to be like those in the Jaguars and FFRR and I think some RRSs. It rises up on starting car and then can be rotated through PRNDS with a gentle push down and rotate to the final S/COMMAND SHIFT postion. You then command-shift via the flappy paddles ONLY. And can go back to DRIVE just by pulling on a paddle(right I think) for about 2 seconds.
It suggests in the hand book however that you can change gears via the paddles when in DRIVE as well. Which I think would be handy BUT I can't confrim that.
It seemed quite easy to use in the FFRR My dealer let me try - just learning a new technique really.If it don't fit the third time - try a bigger hammer

A dealer has kindly furnished me with an excel sheet that looks like it has every option for every 2012 model PM me for details.

Several of the LR guys that I have spoken to tell me that "THE" one to go for is the XS. It's a much better buy, and when the time comes to trade it in the residuals will be much better.
Interestingly enough, when you look through the dealers stock sheets, there are quite a number of D4 HSE's on the books, but hardly any XS models. Let's face it who would buy a used HSE, nice as they are, when they could by a new XS for pretty much the same money?
I have to say I'm glad that was the choice I made last year. Just sold a 2010 60 plate XS and ordered a new XS for deliver beginning of October. It has all the goodies I want or need.

As far as I can tell the main difference that you cannot add as an option between XS and HSE is the seats; according to the spreadsheet the difference between XS w/ electric seat pack vs HSE premium leather pack is:
- Passenger Lumbar is manual
- No Driver Seat Memory
- No Premium Leather Cubby Box Lid
- No Electrically Adjustable Bolsters, Front
Lack of driver memory is a shame, but not sure it's that essential.
What does the 'premium navigation' option for £530 give you - is it just the 4x4 screen and voice control that BAS will do for £150+VAT? Is 'off-road navigation' additional to 4x4 screen?
If you add every option to the XS to make it look like an HSE (using list prices):
Sunroof (£1075)
Rear parking camera (£360)
Xenon headlamps (£710)
Metallic paint (£600)
Grand black veneer (£505)
Premium navigation (£530)
Keyless entry (£815)
Electric seats pack (£815)
Then the total is £49,605 vs £51,195 for the HSE and that's ignoring the savings by getting BAS to unlock the features.
Is this nuts or have I missed a bunch of stuff that only the HSE has?

you beat me to it!
looking at this spec sheet I've now got I can see these things that come [standard] on the HSE and for which there is not an upgrade or otherwise available option and hence no pricing for the XS;
New 19 inch 10 spoke wheel [standard]
Interior mood lighting [standard]
Steering column- electric adjustment height and reach [standard]
Seats- heated Front and Rear [standard]
Rear Seat Entertainment Screens/DVD [an HSE-only option at £2300]
Premium Leather Pack (includes Driver Memory, twin Front electric bolsters) [standard]
Some quick back-of-envelope stuff puts me torn between doing additional paper-rounds for another 6 months wait-and-scrimp-and-save, or making a saving of something in the region of £1840 with the (inordinate amount of) specs that I want by getting them attached to an XS.
Think I'll take the tortuous route that gets me the HSE.

I think if being sensible you either go for the XS and "do without" a few things or go for the HSE - the £1840 saving would be lost on resale

Just going back to branchespark's post on discounts, 8% is a fantastic discount, leaving aside the NFU discount. Using round figures, that would represent a saving of over £4K on his 2012 D4 HSE and around £3500 on an XS.
The best I could do was £1000 off my XS for September delivery, on the basis that the dealers all (?) have reduced allocations and don't need to offer much (if any) discount. That makes sense to me and if it's correct (and UK wide) then I'm astounded that anyone could get 8% off list.
What discounts have others achieved on 2012 models ?

I was offered 4% off an HSE by a dealer for November delivery, but that was only with about £1500 factory fit options and £1700 dealer-fit accessories (incl fitting). We know from TLO's prices that the dealer will make a healthy profit on accessories!
If you go through a broker you can achieve 8% discounts on base, but you're somewhat at the mercy of their suppliers on delivery dates - I found out 2 weeks prior to delivery date that my 2011 was being bumped to a 2012 with another 3 month delay. In the end it'll save me over £3k so I'll live with it. I very much doubt that you could combine NFU with a broker's prices though.

Thanks to Branchespark we also got 8 percent off list. If you are a member of the NFU you can also get an extra 5 percent off this price.
Ours is scheduled for delivery mid October and we will collect it from a Land Rover main agent.
We did contact our local dealer but he could not match an 8 percent discount.
