Just a tad more 'man maths' proof is needed, to sway the decision processes.
What's the whole life ownership cost of a set of Compomotives?
I we take into account the residual value, surely they must almost pay for themselves in costing less than the whole life cost of an additional set of LR wheels Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

Unfortunately I married an accountant. She is immune to man maths.

The more side wall the better the ride, low profile tyres are for looks only, if you need proof look at a F1 car they have a good profile as most of the suspension is in that profile, spacers cause excessive wheel bearing wear, the centre of the tyre should be centre of wheel bearings, off centre causes exccisive loads on bearings, it's pretty simple physics really
Go kart tyres make for a hard ride, spacers make clearance problems for wheel arches but may cure brake clearancesDiscovery 3 HSE 07

Well actually I am going to do this (again) to my latest D3....
Its Buckingham Blue so I may add some Mountain graphics or similar...
Hopefuilly the wheels are worth looking at.
The point being Standard 17" D3 wheels can look great if painted and matched with great tyres:

You are so right.

The Discoverer STT PRO is Cooper's most aggressive off-road tire to date,. This new tire, which offers larger voids and a more aggressive tread design than the company's S/T MAXX, is the company's first true mud-terrain and is rated for both mud and snow travel.
I fear too aggressive for me - I'll probably be going for General Grabber AT3s

Agreed, but they don't fit D4's Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

It was a few years ago that I did a lot of searching for information on fitting 18" rims, but I'm reasonably confident in saying that the 18" Zulu rims don't fit the 3.0 D4.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I currently have a set of D5 19" with tyres for sale, I've no idea if they fit a D4.
