Squeaking suggests it is alive. Try tempting it out with a nice treat. 2014 MY Discovery XS Indus Silver. Sadly gone. Second last LR of forty eight years continuous ownership.

I have the same squeak. Have posted about it before, but no answers. Mine sounds like a dry speedo cable, if it had a speedo cable. Only happens after driving for more than 1/2 hour, and at speed over 40.
I keep threatening to take the lower dash panels off to look for it, but always forget when I get home Richard

You may need a ratchet spanner for access:

watching this with interest as I have had a squeek which sounds like its below the steering wheel for about 9 months now. Have had trim off but can't locate it.Andy

it was the steering column!
after prodding, pushing and pulling every piece of trim I could reach I thought I'd have one more go at changing the steering wheel position.
Turns out what I thought was it in max movement was in fact it being stuck. it came free and I adjusted it to suit me better and as a result the gerbil is gone (for now I am sure!)
thank god there is no more squeak - it was driving me a bit nuts!formerly Disco3Ben
