20inch AT tyre choice

I’m sure it’s been done to death but I’ve just bought at nice HSE Lux with 20 inch rims, currently sat on 255 50 20’s
I’ve always run 19 inch Duratracs and loved them for the all round ability but I nearly choke’d when I saw the price of them in 20” I’m told the 275 version is cheaper and will fit?

What’s the best AT option for 20 inch rims? It will get used off road quite a lot, mainly farm tracks & fields and come the winter for 4x4response but it’s also my daily driver..

You can get General Grabber AT3 in 255 55 20.

They are about £140 - £150 per corner, fully fitted.

Just having my 20” wheels refurbished looking at these tyres more for protection of the wheels but as we tow a caravan all over Europe would I be more prone to a less comfortable and noisy drive ? ( would look good though) Thumbs Up

I fitted General Grabber AT3 to my 20 inch wheels in 275/45/20. I use mine mostly for road, but I also retrieve my sons Hot Air Balloon quite often so I wanted something a bit more off road biased. Apart from convincing the tyre fitting people that it’s my f***ing choice what tyres I fit to my car, they’ve been no problem so far, but I’d say my MPG has gone down a bit from the Pirelli’s I had before.

In relation to the towing comment, I have 255/55x20 Pirelli All Season tyres on my Disco4 Commercial that works as a tow vehicle.

I find that when towing heavy vehicles there is too much give in the tyres which means there is too much vehicle roll/leaning.

I am therefore changing to 275/45x20 tyres which will give a slightly firmer ride and a reduction of just over an inch in overall diameter.

I am however changing the wheels for the wider 9.5" ones, as standard Disco wheels are only 8'5" wide and not in my opinion (or LRs) suitable for 275 section tyres.
