265 70 17 - Any problems on a standard D3? |
|
Guys,
Have a friend who runs 265/70 17 on his Isuzu Dmax, he also runs a D3 and lloking to run the same size so the tyres could be swapped over in the event of punctures, etc. When the D3 dies, it will be saldy replaced by another Isuzu most likely so the tyres would go on that as they are used off road most days.
I have searched the Tyre Forum and it seems we might see some light rubbing, but generally acceptable, can anyone confirm this? Tyres most likely Cooper ATR or possibly BFG AT?
Thanks in advance
Cheers, 10B

I run 265/65/18's which have the exact same radius as the size you're suggesting - 31.6 inches
which is 1.6 inches over standard.
Slight rubbing on full lock when brand new but none since worn down a little.

I've been running BFG A/T in 265/70 17" for a good few years on my MY05 SE without any problems or rubbing. I see no ships........

He has advised his insurance company, they are good for carrying 1500kg each @ 99mph so should be fine in everyday use in the UK. Doubt he ever gets over 50mph in the real world.
