266,000 miles... anything I should be worrying about?

I guess the question is in the title really.

Over the years I've replaced countless wishbones, the suspension compressor, height sensors, yaw sensor alternator, turbo pipe, front and rear brake pipes, front hoses, a few wheel bearings, a lot of tyres, a new clutch and flywheel at 180k, a new front diff at 245k and then mostly service items like brake discs/pads etc.

He's still running really nicely Smile ..smokes a bit on cold start-up but aside from that drives like a good'un.

I've been thinking about trading up to a 2014/5 SE Tech but a part of me says just to keep on driving Smile

Cheers,
Matt.

What's it worth? Probably very little, so I'd be inclined to keep it going for as long as it's practical to do so. At least until another expensive job is on the horizon.

With hindsight, I should have kept my D3 for another year at least.

Cornwall: I'm lucky to live in Mevagissey Smile

Value-wise, I've been offered from £1200 to £2000 on trade in - private I would hope £2.5k ish looking at eBay.

I'd say that there's a strong case for it being worth more than that to you. So I'd be inclined to keep it. Worse case is that it blows up and even then it would be worth £500+ for parts etc.

Prob worth 3 or 4 times that in parts. A good efficient stripping can raise quite a bit. Thumbs Up

Just as a footnote. Traded in at 271k - I've now got a Loire Blue 14 plate (facelift) XS with a few extras in it. Smile

What did you get for it at trade in ? Did it reach expectations ?

They just make the best of everything they have.

It wasn't a massive number, but it was enough that I was content. It was quite a bit more than werobyouforanycar were offering. The overall range I was offered by dealers on it against other cars was from £800 to £2,000, the deal was high end of that, and probably slightly over it once factoring in warranty etc offered on the newer one.
