3.0litre engine

Is it true that LR will replace the 2.7 with a 3.0 litre engine if so any timescales? I'd hate to think what it would do to the resale value.

Don't worry... 2.7 is plenty good enough.

3.0 will drink more fuel too Smile

I presume this is not imminent, I would have thought it would tie in with the facelift which would probably be around the 08 MY year?

LR will only use Peugeot/Ford TDV6 and TDV8 for diesels and Jaguar engines for the petrols from next year onwards

Will it replace the current diesel or be added to the range at a whopping premium ?

The latter I assume

I gather they're farily keen to be shot of anything BMW related, possibly a new RR sooner than expected?

I understand that the 2.7 TDV6 will go into the new Freelander 'detuned' to become euro 4 compliant and it will then be necessary for LR to fit the 3.0 TDV6 in Disco3 and RRSport as a euro 4 engine

Speaking of Freelander... I tried to follow a disguised one on the M40 the other day... no chance !

Damn thing was like a rocket ship with little black bursts of smoke each time it accelerated away from me. Driver was obviously having fun but I was not too keen on his undertaking on the motorway trying to get round slower cars.

Got to Gaydon and it very quickly whizzed up the slip road (no break lights - which were working by the way) which was a shock as its a VERY tight one when exiting from the London bound side. Martin will verify that.

Impressed me it did - should be a good little mover when it launches.
