2.0l is made in Wolverhampton I think JLR Engine plant. Have they not stopped producing 3.0l at Dagenham as I thought you couldn’t by a brand new 3.0l engine for the D4 as I was under the impression they only sold a remanufactured unit now

What was price off landrover for the crank?
I am getting it as a good will gesture as far as i know its part of a larger deal to buy a batch of the new Defenders

Not a problem as it a rare to get a true genuine crank where you know it’s genuine
Just had to ask you 👍

Would that suggest that there IS a problem with the ones this replaces... In today's world, if you contribute something, you don't contribute enough. If you contribute nothing, you receive everything.

Im sure LR would not call it upgraded and admit they had a problem. The words they used was updated i hope if they have redesigned it they have cured the problems they are not admiting too.
They have solved the issue with spun bearings on the Gen 2 engine but its not something they shout about and admit they had a problem.

The F150 3.0 was to be built in the US but that did not happen and it is being made at the Dagenham plant in the UK so the lastest version of the 3.0 is still being made in the UK - noting that with the 2 litre engine being dropped the 3.0 TDV6 is replacing it in some LR products. Not sure if this is the F150 spec engine or the old LR spec engine.
The 3.0 crank in the F150 engines has 4mm thicker journals (to stop crank failure) so cannot be retrofitted to the LR 3.0 engines - is a bit like when the RV8 when from the 3.9 to 4.0/4.6 RV8 - same size engine but different crankshaft.
Does anyone know if the 3.0 TDV6 that is going back into some LR products to replace the Ing 2.0 going to be the F150 spec engine or just the old LR spec engine.
For the OP and highlighted with comments by Disco Mikey, this crank you are getting sounds a bit dodgy - I hope I am wrong but does not sound like a "new old stock" from Landrover but something sourced elsewhere by ??? so do your "due diligence" before accepting.

You would have thought jlr and Ford would have leant from there mistakes by using same engine with a built in fault
