He’s getting there Thumbs Up

Assume special oil is used for assembly to help protect the first start

I doubt they bother these days.
Synthetic is so good.

I always mixed light synthetic engine oil with bearing grease in a jar and brushed it onto all bearing components before assembly. Never had a problem with any of the engines.

Many thks , suppose going from the days when I rebuilt a few engines with my dad many moons ago , think it had like a red colour to it

Always useto get the job of lapping the valves in, also loosing collets when I released the clamp Laughing

Don’t mind admitting , Wouldn’t dream of doing a rebuild on the tdv6 , way over my head , only done some series 3 engines or on some of the triumphs

Found it Interesting Ref the turbo filter and seeing the petrol being poured into the head, reminds me of lapping valves in many years ago

Also about the lifters , trying to remember if it was like the old rover V8 lifters where they would fail, mate had a V8 and remember him showing me many moons ago but alas can’t remember how he could tell a good / bad one

Very impressed with how he remembers where everything goes Thumbs Up

She’s , ALIVE , was also very interesting ref the oil filter housing

Hopefully the slight noise in the engine is a simple fix

Finding it a very informative series of videos
