Anyone else noticed how many truck drivers seem to have their phone's glued to their ears as well these days? And back to the original post, who would want to bet that if this numpty had crashed his Barbie Wagon the headlines would have screamed "4x4 carnage!" rather than pointing out that it was the muppet at the wheel, not the car that did it.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Know where you're coming from with that one DG........ Whistle

The frantic wafting hand motion between the legs whilst looking down wondering what's the lesser of three evils - High speed prang, burnt nads or knackered upholstery Big Cry It's amazing how a burning ball can become so difficult to locate from being sat in the drivers seat.

I recall at the tender age of 17 on a winding B-road at night in my (non-smoking) dads Rover SD1...... Flicked a fag out of the window and within half a mile wondered where the burning smell was coming from in the rear passenger compartment. Embarassed

No doubt smoking will be banned whilst driving in future and I can see the logic even though I wouldn't agree with it.

I've found that the gap behind the top of the steering wheel shroud isn't a good place to drop a faaaaaaaaaaaaag .

Back OT its usually the fat cats ( & catesses) that I see with mobile shaped ears.I love sneaking up on them , overtake and blow the horn like bejaysus.

Guys

I think you might be after the wrong MacLeod person driving the Jimny!

We know from Discocuzzy's speeding thread http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/post443459.html#443459 that Jason would not do anything to jeopardise his licence and job Whistle

It hurts my head, and the law is ever changing, they will always get you in the end if you just dont keep to the limits as laid down in law. If anybody is on 6 Points, then a change of driving attitude is needed before the next one comes guarenteed.

A British driving licence is a PRIVILAGE, not a god given right, and can easily be taken away leaving our D3's standing.

Its not hard is it really

My licence is my job, therefore dont risk my employment or earnings but a few testostone minutes.

have they not banned use of phones, eating and drinking whilst driving, and isnt smoking the same motion of using hand to put an object to the mouth. a distraction is a distraction whether it's eating, drinking; smoking.
also isnt it recommended a break every 2 hour drivingsp calls, food, drink, smoke and phone calls can be made then .
but as a safety device hands free should be standard on ALL cars manufactured, although that wont help if idiots want to SMS.

sorry just IMHO Confused

Personally, I'm nearly as bad at driving while holding a conversation as I am while holding a phone. I was travelling in convoy from on the junction of the M1 to the M25 one day when my sister phoned. I spoke to her hands free for a minute, and when I came off the call I'd nearly missed the junction, and I'd completely lost the other vehicle I was in convoy with.

All cars should be built with proper faraday cages so that phones don't work in them at all.
