I feel your pain... some time ago mine was scratched across both doors and into rear wing, don't know what with. It was deeper in places than others. The lads at the garage I do some work for managed to polish most of it out, but not the deep parts. I've learned to live with it as it doesn't show too much on silver. As you slide down the banister of life
may no splinters point your way

Thats the advice I gave a while ago, leave it in off road height and if you have side steps thats wot will hit the other cars doors. But wantun jealousy damage is something none of us can stop.....unless you catch the
Had not seen that tip Mac but will be using it in future.

TSR2, its the only thing I found that works in car parks.......Does'nt obviously stop another 4x4 dinging the doors, but the average car is easily stopped by raised suspenstion and side steps

My 2 day old D2 got trashed by a trolley at Brooklands ...I was tamping What a contrast to now though
My D3 has so many scratches on it from off-roading that drivers of old Escorts think that I'm going to ding their doors when I park next to them.
I'm so relaxed about it TBH ...just plan on getting them sorted before I trade 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I got an Escort too, does the job and keeps the miles off the D3 and SWMBO's (ex mine) TD5
Still does'nt stop the jealous twonk though, or even where I live, the ignorant MUM picking up ASBO child from the school around the corner....
I even found a spade leaning against my D3 Thursday night, yep leaning against the paint work...Southern Water came and put a water meter in the pavment outside the house, and next to the D3............I had slab chippings and earth on the side steps and gained a spade..Luckily NO damage.

I consider these to be the biggest cause of dints.
..... and the shopping trolley should have auto-brake to stop runaway.

Ditto Rich
Keeping it dirty helps too - people just don't get jealous of a great big dirty scratched lump - they just move on to the next shiny bling one and go for that one instead Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I have the privacy glass in the rear and when I got back to the car from picking up a takeaway my Mrs (in the back with the kids) said, check your door, that woman just opened her door into the side of your car, That one?, No the one that was in there before that one... - That is the only disadvantage with privacy glass, a good stare often makes people be careful but if they don't see you!
Also, the last 4 or 5 times I have got back to my car after parking in the middle of no-where at the supermarket, there has been some numpty in a £500 shed parked right up against it ??? I could not even get the baby seat in through the gap in the door at the weekend, thats how close they parked - I had to reverse to the space behind - What is it with these people?!?!?!
Not sure about the parking across two spaces though - I often think to myself - I hope that person gets keyed - its quite inconsiderate.....After all perhaps it is our faults for working hard to earn enough money to get a nice motor and not just sitting back and being benefits beggar and driving round in an uninsured motor that we should not be driving anyway because the car does not have an MOT nor we a licence because our provisionals expired 4 years ago..and has 12 points on it from speeding and driving without insurance........ Woooosaaa! Don't worry..... it only seems Kinky the first time you do it!

Not good mate. As Ken says a good mop/machine polish will remove most or certainly detract the eye from that.
I have the door protectors fitted and find that those combined with offroad height in car parks works a treat. I'm not a great fan of the side steps, but many on here swear by them for stopping dings.
The only ding I've suffered in three years is a tree stump branch that managed to jump out of BCB's hand at Boughrood, whilst trying to recover TFC (although ended up me needing recovered 1st by a digger ) My fault I asked him to give it a 'tug' but he did not have his porrige that morning
