When watching that on TV yesterday i got told off by SWMBO for suggestions best resolution would be an armed response team and expenditure of a couple of 9mm rounds in his direction. Hopefully hitting. Well his pouring petrol everywhere would preclude taser unfortunately.

I was a total head case from 14 to prob 17 but my god I respected my elders and peoples property and 99% of people in authority, we used to have a laugh with the local Bobby .

Three and a half years, out in under 2 years no doubt, for that sort of action is ridiculous. There really should be much stiffer sentencing for this sort of thing, be it attacks on the blue light services or just in general.
Can't help thinking some time in solitary confinement would be much more effective, and a deal more scary, for these types. Chucking them in to an environment with easy access to drugs and that is rife with violence, isn't going to do anything useful. I’d not lose any sleep if what some here have suggested came to pass, but ultimately I’d like to see a society where such things didn’t happen. I would start with education and employment.
