If you took the LR 5 year service plan then the Adblue top up is included. Thumbs Up

My ones booked in for its 1st service 14th of next month, so I will take a note of the AdBlue mileage, I think I've still got 11,000 miles left.

Not that I don't trust my dealer Whistle

I think how much Ad-Blu you use is very much determined by the type of driving you do. If you're heavy footed around town all day then you'll be lucky to reach between 16k services, but if you're spending all day on a motorway at a steady speed then you could get anything up to 20k from 17 Litres.

I got 14k before top up warning. That is probably 75% motorway use. Thumbs Up

My mileage so far is just under 4,300. It's part of the reason I'm thinking of leaving the brand altogether but that will be tough.

Can you syphon AdBlue out of the tank?

I ask for the enlightenment of a "lurker", who has refilled with the cheapest AdBlue he could find, and is now worried!

I'm not concerned as I only have a D3 Laughing .

I think adblua has to meet a spec, what that spec is I havent a clue!
We used to do lots of warranty on the adblue system on trucks and always had to send a sample of the adblue from the tank along with the part, warranty would not pay for all the units/parts we sent back.

Also worth noting its reacts badly with steel, the resulting slop causes mayhem with the system, ask royal mail Mr. Green

As adblue usage is so low compared to the hgvs I cant understand anyone factoring it into running costs, 50/60 thousands worth of car worried about 15 quids worth of liquid every 5/10/15k, bear in mind all new diesels will be adblue nowadays.

ISO 22241-1 is the standard quoted in the book and clearly quoted on the 10lt container I purchased. So as far as I'm concerned it's excatly what is required.

I wouldn't be so sure about your friendly LR dealer using the 'correct' stuff - if they are doing it for free they will be using the cheapest stuff they can get their hands on. It certainly won't be comming out of the pretty LR branded 1.5lt bottles (10 botttles to fill 1 Disco Laughing ), it will be comming out of an unbranded 200 lt drum that probably hasn't had the top on properly for weeks.

Nobody is worried about price, but if I've paid £700 for a service pack which includes Adblue top ups then I don't expect to pay for it again, unless the cost of getting to the dealer outwieghs the benefits of getting the dealer to do it.
