Adding Accessory Fusebox, looking for switched live
I'm planning on adding a number of electrical accessories (Blackvue, phone, CB, etc) and rather than piggyback them all from the back of an accessory socket, thought I'd bite the bullet early and add an extra fusebox.
I have one of these:
and plan to fit it behind the lower glovebox, next to the existing fusebox, if I can find some space to mount it securely. Following lots of searching on here, I found Voug's post on this thread: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic65240.h...tched+live that suggested making up a breakout lead to use one of the pre-wired but unused fuseboard connections (rather than piggybacking on an existing fuse and having potential warranty issues later). I then found some of these in Halfords:
which save me having to make up that part.
I tested the existing fuseboard and found almost all of the spare ways were permanently live and two seemed to be permanently dead. Any suggestions for ones that way be switched with the ignition? Or did I find many that stayed alive for a certain time after the door opened? How long do I have to leave it with doors open so that I can check without waking it up?
