Air Suspension Fault - Any Thoughts???

I am in a bit of a panic, my disco 3 developed a fault yesterday where the yellow suspension light came on and the message said something like "Air Suspension Fault - Normal Mode Only". It cleared when I restarted the engine but then came back less than a a minute later. After raising and lowering it a few times (before the fault light came back), I noticed that the front was not moving and after a few attempts now nothing moves and the fault just says "suspension fault" Big Cry I also noticed that the 4x4 display says that the suspension is in "standard" mode, not "normal" but the limit markers are not hit (it looks to be somewhere between normal and lowered) any ideas? Question Question

Any thoughts as to what it could be, I am already thinking the worst (compressor) Big Cry

My worst fear and I hear that they are hard to get at the moment. I am praying that it is a sensor or wiring problem!

Mines been doing it for weeks now, occasionally changes to red with message not to exceed 30 MPH. had a new compressor fitted to mine hasn't cured it. Waiting for another part to arrive some sort of sensor vale thing which fits somewhere near the compressor.

When plugged into diagnostic comes up with two faults cannot recall them both but one relates to not venting.

I had hoped the new part to have arrived for mine this week.

Had a pretty similar incident, The Rover kept on adjusting itself...went to the dealer and it was a suspension height sensor.

similar problem. gradually increased in frequency over time. it was the air compressor. replaced under warranty, no problems since.

Mine has done exactly the same as you're describing. Took it to the dealers who confirmed it was the compressor thats given up. It continued to work slowly for a day or two, but then stopped completely.

Apparently the compressors are difficult to get hold of currently, so they are sourcing a non LR compressor.

Thanks for the replies everyone, looks grim Crying or Very sad

I will post the diagnosis back on Monday. Couple of questions though....

1. Is it safe to drive, (I may have a 600 mile round trip this week)?

2. Does anyone have a compressor that they can sell to me, should it turn out to be that ? (Am I allowed to say this here mods? I will post a wanted ad if it turns out to be the compressor)

Well today mine appeared to be fine started and drove a good few miles with no fault displayed.

Stupidly I decided to see if the height would change, initially it did nothing and displayed suspension fault again. Then on next starting the car it rose to off road height and is now stuck in off road height.

I definitely think the fault is right about not venting, hope the part arrives soon.
