Air suspension - hard ride and poor handling |
|
My disco 3 seems to have developed a characteristic which the LR dealer (marshalls) says is normal.
It has 49k miles on it over 3 years - Over the last month the suspension appears to have become very stiff- (you feel every bump or crack in the roads) - and the handling round corners or roundabouts appears to be getting worse. -back end leans into corners.
The car appears to be running at the correct height.
At the 45k service it had front torsion bar bushes and steering bushes replaced (according to the worksheet and invoice).
Any suggestions?
Thoughts todate have been - suspension pressure too high (causing stiffness), suspension pressure too low (not providing the correct level of suspension performance).
I have talked to another LR dealer - no suggestions
I have talked to an independant - he is willing to investigate (for a fee)!

Genevadisco, may I ask have you found the source of your stiff suspension. I have had my 2004 D3 with air susp 2 weeks and the harsh ride is driving me mad yet no warning lights, faults or noises.
Some say damps, bushes, new shockers and some odd mention of 'resetting the air suspension' whatever that means...
