Air suspension and service reset

Hi all

Just bought a disco 3 and have two issues

1. Resetting the service light I watched a video online and it seems so easy! Press the button on dash and hold down and turn ignition on till service stops flashing

Well mine doesn’t flash or even come up nothing happens!!!

2. When I got it i tested the air suspension loads and the fault light came up but the suspension still works and it doesn’t sag and holds position which makes me think it’s a height sensor

If the fault does come up ignition off and on again and it all works again as per normal

How do I find out which sensor is gone? Is it work buying one of those ecu readers on eBay?

Thanks
Russ

You can’t clear the service on these in that way.

We use a gap iid bt £425 to do both the things
You want.

Expensive but worth their weight in gold on these cars

Every video on YouTube shows this is possible? There are loads of videos where it works on a disco 3

I tried it and it wouldn’t work on mine. With others saying the same, and yourself.

They are ten years out of date! welcome to the expensive, frustrating world of Discovery 3s.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

i've serviced the car and i'll just leave the service light i think.

but will the engine shut down if it thinks it hasnt been serviced?

also does anyone know about the suspension? its all working but occasionally this suspension fault comes up and it doesnt work, ignition off and on again and all works again!

i'm hoping its just reset

no it won't shut the engine down.

service indicator warnings on these are tiny and not an annoyance

Sounds like your suspension is kind of ok. Maybe compressor tired.

yeah i took a risk when i bought it, my only experience of land rovers was a 110 company vehicle which was ok ish and a LRD2 company vehicle that spent 2 weeks with me 2 weeks with local dealer for years!

so great investment! lol but needed something for shooting and i wanted a disco

it doesnt sag or lose air sometimes no issues at all, other times the light comes on and renders it useless but turning off and on again and it works fine.

if you put it into high or low it wont go into fault only if its in driving mode

i suspect one of the sensors is miss reading but certainly the compressor and bags seem fine, bags certainly are

120k miles, 2 owners, reasonable history, and suspension is working £3k couldnt refuse

It depends on what software is on the Ipack, if its been updated then it will not work, if it has never been touched then some work and others dont.

Defianately after MY2007 the software was changed and will not work.

Flack Thumbs Up
