Alarm, central locking and indicator flashes |
|
folks
looked in the manual, and I cant find any info on this:
On Saturday, came back to the car and unlocked it with two presses of the fob to unlock all the doors, and instead of the usual 1 long slow flash, I got a few seconds of really rapid flashing. Didnt really do anything about it, but today, I'd open the car with one press of the fob (just drivers door unlock), drove the car home from work, stopped, switch off, got out and went to get something out of the boot. As this wasnt unlocked when I got in, I pressed the fob (which I've done before), and as Saturday, got loads of rapid indicator flashing. Took my stuff out of the boot, and locked the whole car (superlocked as usual). Twice since, the alarm has gone off !
I've reset using the unlock/lock with the fob.
Have I missed sequenced something (just found I can unlock/release tailgate by presing both lock/unlock buttons together on the dash).
what does the rapid flashing mean?

If I remember correctly, eight quick flashes on unlocking means that the alarm has been triggered during your absence, following which it has reset itself to the armed condition.

correct... probably something inside the D3 set it off or an over sensitive sensor. Mine has done this a couple of times.
Mind you, when it was broken into the car park attendant didn't even notice the alarm... its tooo damn quiet.
Can't be hurting the ears of the little scrotts breaking into your pride and joy can we ?

thanks chaps
you are correct about how quiet it is. I could see the side repeater flashing when it went off, but couldnt hear it, from 20 feet away through double glazing.

Well now you come to metion it........
On Saturday when it happened, I cant say I was completely convinced I had locked it. My missus mentioned this, and "of course I'd locked it dear".
but I'll keep an eye on this.
