After many years of fruitless searching and bypassing various sensors I cannot stop my alarm randomly sounding........
Once it starts going off it will continue doing so every 20mins to an hour until it is started and moved or it just stops. It will stop doing it for months and randomly start again for a couple of days and stop again. Doesn't matter whether it is daytime, night time or where it is parked. There are no fault codes logged and it makes no difference whether I press the lock button once or twice.
So my only option for now, to stop my neighbours constantly moaning when it has it's off nights/days, is to disconnect the sounder. It will then default to the horns which will be worse, so my question is:
Which of the 3 wires leading to the sounder is the sensor to detect it's presence? Can I just short one to ground or the sounder feed wires together so it thinks it is connected but doesn't sound??
I have had to temporarily disconnect both the sounder and horns in case tonight it has another sh!tfit, last night it played up all night and someone left a note on my windscreen that it had kept them awake most of the night
Can anyone tell me what the 3 wires do and which is which please??? ------------------------------

Have you tried a new sounder ?
I had same issues with another of my cars, replacing the sounder did the trick.

as Coo says, it might be a faulty sounder so you might find that if the alarm uses the horns it will be ok. certainly worth a try.

I can't see it being the sounder.........unless it uses a switched -ve with a permanent live???
There is no way I can leave the D3 out in the street with the horns blasting if it has an off night. As it is not parked outside my house I wouldn't hear it first. ------------------------------

Disconnect the sounder and leave it off, the system will then use just the horns for sounding the alarm. If that cures the problem then you can get a new sounder if you feel the need.
Pete. IID, webasto software and workshop facility's available.

I know it doesn’t solve anything, but can you stop the sounder making any sound or at least muffle the sound considerably. I have heard expanding foam works wonders on House alarms that keep ringing all night. Alternatively if you disconnect the sounder it defaults to the horns, what happens if you disconnect those as well.

Try pressing the remote twice that will eliminate the interior motion sensors.
I have a serplus sounder you could try, although if you have disconnected the sounder and the horns go off it's not the sounder that's at fault. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
