Alloy Wheel Refurbishment - Longevity

Query.

If you have a wheel refurbished, how long should it last. I had some 6 month old wheels refurbished last April due to offroad damage (they are my road wheels) and now they are delaminating and blistering left right and centre. Am i expecting too much? - they certainly need a full refurbishment again. The place in question has informed me that the state of my wheels is completely "normal".

I need to revise my car budgeting if I need a full set of wheels refurbished annually!!!!!

tell them it's also normal for angry customers to get their mates around to kick the shirt out of thieving, lying tosspots who charge good money for shoddy work. Evil or Very Mad

Or contact trading standards. They're flexing their new powers against this sort of thing. Thumbs Up

how much did it cost to have them refurbished ???, it may be cheaper to buy some spare wheels second hand.

ND, hence my trying to gauge what is normal as I have never had wheels refurbished before - My Defenders alloys were absolutely fine at 11 years old!!!!

I do run a seperate set for MTR@s after gettimng these refurbished DD. I paid £250 for 4 I think, which appeared to be the going rate when I shopped about.

A refurb, if done properly, will last as long as the original wheels. Have a chat with Ken, I'm sure he'll give you the low down.

Give trading standards a call. No skin off your nose and if they are in agreement with you then Thumbs Up

Refurbed wheel will never last the course its designed to look good for a while

If you want longevity then have them powder coated properly its ITRO £80.00 an alloy worth every penny if its done with care and often looks better than new

I had mine done for about £60 a corner (cash) through a mechanic friend on an Omega V6, certainly looked perfect when I sold it on 7 months later
