But what if its Diet Coke with a twist of Lemon or Lime ? If there are no sugars then only the effect of a liquid shorting out contacts would be the only problem... so thats good isn't it ? or not
I just hope that all the contacts on wires, switches etc etc are sealed properly - just like the ones outside the vehicle under the car !
Or am I being a tad optimistic here ? So far I have had no problems when the heavens have opened up and there has been water everywhere.

The three or four times that I have poured coffee into my parking brake control instantly caused both the red and amber "parking brake fault" indicators to come on. Blowing the area out with compressed air quickly fixed it each time. LR3 HSE

Ok, maybe it has only been twice. You wouldn't believe how  I was the two times I did it.
When I was at the Land Rover Adventure with the LR people, I specifically asked them why there was that slot at the rear of the cup holder. Was it to allow the coffee cup to fall backwards, pouring right into the parking brake? This was after a few drinks, and I actually demonstrated this phenomenon with my empty beer bottle. To my surprise, the beer bottle was not as empty as I thought, and I poured a few ounces on my hand and this LR woman’s foot right there at the table. I guess I made my point! LR3 HSE
