Altox remote not working
I have an altox remote (fromBodsy) and I can’t get it to fire the heater, most of the time when I call the number it goes straight to ansafone, the light on the remote is on all the time, I took the gif gag sim out and put an 3 sim in and it’s still the same, it will work very occasionally but most times I get the voicemail, it doesn’t matter where I am either so it can’t be the signal (2 different sims as well)
Anyone know if I can try anything else or could the unit be faulty? The heater works ok when I run it from the IIDControl test.

What’s the giffgaff sim number? Drop me a pm with it. 👍
Have you put the sim into a normal phone first to receive the text from giffgaff?
With a working, fully inserted sim, the led will flash twice every few seconds.

Yep I put the sim in my phone and set it up, same with the 3 sim, I changed sim as we do have crap mobile signal where we are but 3 works ok normally, sometimes it will fire up but more often than not it won’t, if I send a text it does nothing and if I call the number it goes to voicemail, if I take the sim out and put it back in the light will be on, then flash briefly before staying on
I don’t know what else to try, it will fire and run on the IIDControl test. I’ve pm’d the numbers to you.

Sounds like mobile phone signal problem where is the sim located in the car?

I’ve got it in the battery box for now as it’s been too cold to route it through properly to the inside

Not sure how well the signal gets through Metal Bonnet/Wings compared to Glass inside car.
Test it with the bonnet open or sim placed outside car if wiring long enough.

ISTR reading they will not work with a 3 simm, something to do with 3 only working on 3G and they work on 2G, I could be wrong do a seach It can when others can't,

Didn’t receive a PM from you with the sim number.
But as mentioned, Three network won’t work with these types of gsm devices as they do not use the GPRS band, only 3G and 4G. You need GPRS signal.

I changed the sim as I was having problems anyway and thought it might help I’ll check to see if the pm went, I’m still away so can’t do anything at the moment.
Strangely my calls to the altox have gone through to voicemail last two days... have to check if it's moved and can't get signal. It texted me the day before I lost contact..

Right back home now, I switched the SIM cards back and have the Gif Gaff sim back in, stood next to the car with bonnet open and dialled the number, it went straight to voicemail
Anyone got any ideas now cos I’m at a loss?

What is the light doing on the Altox? Solid, slow blink, fast blink?
