Hi
Glad the pic came in handy , indeed at @pete mentions when updating from an hitachi to an Amk the software needs updating , will also come with a new relay
few links for the captive nuts and bolts that secure the bracket to the chassis
These are for M8 bolts, which I think is what I have, I'll check.
Real frustration is everyone's delivery is Tuesday/Thursday and I was hoping to be up and running today.
I'll refit loosely with the current arrangements to see if everything works.

Hi
Ur welcome , plus don’t know if u get this way, ie swanley , as if u ever get stuck or need a hand please feel free to give me a shout , got parking on my driveway so don’t have to work in the road
Only reason like many others had to do a lot on my suspension system and indeed understand it can be very frustrating at times , particularly trying to find air leaks as still got the test rigs etc I made up when I was looking for leaks etc
Just thought , plse have a look on Amazon as sometimes u can get quick delivery , alas haven’t got any otherwise could have sent some over by post
Have a gap iid, multimeter and plenty of tools etc , so plse feel free to PM anytime
As always , great pleasure to help as in where I’ve received such fantastic assistance, just nice being able to help others where possible in giving back to the community where everyone has been so extremely kind
Hope it all goes to plan and back up and running very soon

Stuart
apols for the late reply, away on business for a couple of days.
Swanley's not in my regular route but I'm building to get to Morocco so you're direct line of sight for Euro Tunnel.
Thanks for the offer, I'll let you know when.
Just waiting for the captive nuts (M8) for the chassis and I'll get put things back together.
Genuinely can't see how such a tiny piston can ever raise 2.7 tonnes.

Ur so very welcome and plse no need to apologise as fully understand
That sounds amazing going to Morocco , in that case i would buy a genuine AMK , so at least then u know it’s sorted out once and for all , along with checking ur air tank seeing they normally leak on the seal on top where u can’t see it , would be worried that second hand compressor not working and throwing £85 down the drain when u could use it towards a decent AMK compressor
Thk u , Fantastic video u done of the compressor and indeed surprising that small piston produces enough pressure
Have also seen back up ARB compressors , plus the tubes and fittings you’ve got so u can bypass the system if things go wrong , plus seen compressor metal plates that bolt underneath to protect it
Also seen someone fit a suspension compressor from a BMW X5 in the spare battery box
Any time plse feel free to give me a shout and will help where I can , also plse let us know how u get on
Gary

Gary,
apologies, I assumed Stuart from your tag.
I'm rather a believer in equipment with experience, repair, reuse, recycle etc., but having spoken with the eBay vendor the wording is somewhat 'misleading', it's a lookalike part, so I've let that go.
The Hitachi compressors do seem to have a bad rep, but I rather like the approach of this guy with regards to re-buildability. He would however say that wouldn't he!
I've got the all the pipework/fittings to by-pass the compressor/tank (earlier in this chain) and splice in ahead of the valve blocks which I will fit as an emergency option. Thanks for the links to onboard compressors. I'm also looking at Tmax, RAC900 and Rimmer bros. No idea how to chose.
These just arrived for the bracket to chassis bolts, so off to fit the 'repaired' Hitachi.
Thanks

Hi Pete
Please no need to apologises mate,
I did wonder that as seen a good few fake look a like compressors , Brilliant u got the clips for the bracket, know they can sometimes be awkward to install
Hope all goes well and straight forward so u can get it all back up and running

'Awkward to install'
First thing I did was lose the top one in the chassis, which cost me a relationship with an old friend
The sacrifice was not in vain as I did manage to fish it out and got all three captive nuts installed.
I had a go at mounting the bracket first and then the compressor, but couldn't get to the long thin bolt that threads through the upper rubber isolator/bushing into the compressor.
Finally got things back together by fitting the compressor mount using only the two lower bolts with the compressor already mounted using just the lower locating pin and the upper bolt through the isolator/bushing.
This left just enough wiggle room to get a socket on a wobble drive to install the upper bracket bolt.
Connected the airlines and electrics, turned the key and imagine the surprise
No lights, no noises, good as new. Except of course I now wish I'd replaced the seals and the desiccant.
And just how out of balance is the conrod?
Probably not much use to others as I'd like to think the conrod parting with the crank is a one-off, but thanks all for the assistance.
Up and running again.

Now to fit this experienced equipment in another thread.
Thanks

As I was away for a week, I ran a little test on the air ride.
Raised to off-road height and pulled the fuse.
These are the before/after dimensions in mm from u/s wheel arch to c/l wheel.
NSF - 520/480
OSF - 520/475
NSR - 550/535
OSR - 550/530
Over the week I've lost 35-40mm at the front and 15-20mm at the rear.
Anything to worry about?
Thanks

Sorry to resurrect this, but I now need to do what I should have done at the time - replace the seals and desiccant.
Last time I took the compressor off, the truck was on the bump-stops. Not now.
Does the air stay in the system/suspension when I remove the compressor?
