Another clicking noise thread

okay, I have searched the archives, there is a gazillion threads on all sorts of noises Laughing , and now here comes mine, because I could not find the answer. Big Cry

Car is a 09 MY, no additional heater, but climate control (SE Spec in Germany)

The noise comes from the dashboard and it is a sort of clicking noise, like some sort of a switch or a solenoid opening and closing. It goes like click-click-click, then pause, then click-click, then click-click-click-click, pause etc and so on, there is no pattern in it. Sounds like a morse-code. However, it does not sound mechanical. Neutral

It starts as soon as the engine is running and even if you switch off the engine it goes on. click click click. It drives me mad. Evil or Very Mad Any ideas? I could ask the dealer, the car is brand new, but the dealer would not even spot it if the car came on three wheels from the factory. Sad

Does the noise still happen with the climate control switched off?

What about with the recirculate function on/off?

Yes, it's there no matter if climate control is on or off.
Have not tried the recirculate function though. That is in the default position

Is it your arm-rest fridge/coolbox? The relay went on mine (or something like that), and made that crazy noise when it was switched on. Took me ages to find.
