Another upper tailgate thread

Sorry all. I've tried reading through all the posts about uppers not opening.ive replaced the switch but still no joy. If I press the key fob it opens if I hold the handle at the same time.does the actuator in the lower work the upper then or is it the latch in the upper that's gone .many thanks

The glass bit just has a hook. I think.

So the latch is in the bottom. There is a bit of plastic you pull off inside. Or maybe that exposes the wiper motor.

Anyway sounds like a broken switch wire doesn’t it? Broken at the top of the tailgate.
Requires spoiler removal.
