Anti theft security.

Although the Disco 3 is pretty well fiited out with immobiliser and alarm I wonder what sort of extra security is used by site users? I am thinking of steering wheel locks of various sizes and styles, pedal locks or what have you? Any ideas or comments, please. Thanks.

As Gareth will attest to, make sure your front door is secure Shocked - A Disco3 can't be driven without the keys and there's not many HIAB's that will lift them off your drive Wink

Yep, we got big gates, deadlocks, window locks, kick-ass alarm, infra red CCTV, boiling oil, and the hounds of hell. If they can get the keys from under my pillow after getting past that lot, they can have it. Wink

Anti theft security.

Thanks Very Annoyed.
Did you mean a large dog in the car. A dog in the garden is not much good in Tesco's car park.
The flame thrower idea whilst very effective tends to be unpopular with the owners of cars parked either side of you. Any more ideas?

How about a sticker on the back window informing people that you carry hazardous waste? or speed limiter fitted - max speed 20mph. Very Happy

Seriously the only other option is a Tracker type system.

Seriously, I nearly lost my D3 last year. The only thing that saved it was the dumb scroat thought the front PDC beeping was a high tech tracking device and abandoned the vehicle. They got my keys.

I think the most likely way you will loose your car is by getting mugged for your keys whilst approaching the vehicle in a dark secluded car park. Answer - don't park there, or get a trakker or similar. BN may be able to help here.

On another note - if my RRS was stolen I would prefer not to get it back! (let's hear the jokes!) Make sure your insurance is good and that you have gap insurance.

Hmm I think BNs device that shuts the car down is probably a better bet, at least they won't be able to drive far.

I just rely on the fact that the car is mostly at the dealers… usually in a non drivable condition … the ULTIMATE immobiliser!!!

Sorry… haven’t had my anti-cynicism pill yet... al part of the "no car in the community" I'm struggling to come to terms with at present.
