Anyone every sprayed full length roof rails - advice?

Looking to see if anyone has bothered to do this or just bought new ones. I have the aluminium coloured rails, but the car is white with mostly a black pack and they don't look right.

Was thinking about plastidipping them, but wondered if using the roof bars would cause the dip to peel. The alternative would be to use a spray paint, but not sure how well it holds up. (Sending them to be professionally sprayed would be too costly so may as well buy black ones).

I use the roof rails maybe once a month but they have to come off each time as the car won't fit in the garage with em on.

I'm assuming that removing and re-fitting the rails is pretty easy - is it?!

Grateful for any thoughts on this mod.

While I’ve never taken the rails off the instructions implied cutting of existing parts.... you might want to take a look. TLDR: I don’t think they’re meant to be removable.

Thanks for the fitting guides. Some of the suggested tools look...interesting!

I wonder then if it’s a safer bet to paint in Siri. Despite the hassle of masking it may be the better option (plus overspray on the glass roof is an easy fix!!)
