Anyone evr changed a front hub knuckle?
Like the part in the picture below?
Is it a mega difficult part to change?

I haven't done one (yet!), but it doesn't look too tricky. 3 ball joints, and the brake caliper, and it'd be off! Richard

Not difficult, but be aware of:
Hub nut is on very tight, so needs a big lever to get it off and a good quality torque wrench to tighten it back up. Most smaller TRs do not go high enough.
The driveshaft may need to be 'persuaded' out of the hub quite hard.
The top and bottom swivels, plus steering arm joint may also need some persuasion and probably replacement.
I'd aslo put a new wheel bearing in if replacing with a used knuckle.

Thanks. Its something i am looking at for a couple of reasons.
1. This bloody brake judder-maybe the mating face the bearing hub sits on is not flat-or the knuckle is bent?
2. All the little bolts that hold the brake disc dirt guard on have sheared off so i either need to drill them all out or just replace the knuckle (I wonder if wheel bearing change is easier with it off).
Probably a crazy idea, but i am clutching at straws while dreaming of smooth brakes!
Easy job, but just drill out the old screw threads, Have the heads sheared off or rounded, if rounded just cut a slot in them and use a flat blade screw driver.
I would say change the wheel bearing with the knuckle attached to the car, makes it easier to remove the hub bearing.

The heads on the screws/bolts have sheered off, so i think i need to drill them out.

Hi. I need advice. All 3 joints + hub nuts are loose but still cant remove wheel knuckle. Top and lower ball joints keeping it on position. How to loose top joint? How to loose bottom one? which one first? Kind regards lads
