Anyone got photos of D3 turbo?

I noticed oil staining on the chassis behind the nsf wheel, and it looks like it's coming from the turbo Shocked . There's a film of oil on the compressor side of the turbo, but difficult to see any more from underneath. No signs of the oil return pipe leaking, where it bolts to the bottom of the turbo, but I think it might be coming from the oil feed to the top of the turbo, or maybe the intercooler hose connection. I think I'll be able to see this area if I remove the heatshield accessed from the wheel arch - can anyone confirm this? Has anyone got any pictures of the turbo from different angles, so I know what I'm loking at? Also, has anyone had this problem before? I've seen this thread, but he doesn't say what the end result was... http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic46277.html

A buddy of mine had the same oil stains, same place, caused by a ripped intercooler hose.

I took the following photo of the top of the turbo after removing one of the wheel arch heat shields. It loooks like the oil is coming out of the top of the intercooler pipe rubber coupling attached to the top of the turbo. The jubilee clips seem tight, but I need to remove another heat shield to be able to get to the top clip screw to check. It's hard to see if there's a split, but with the engine running there was no sign of a leak. I don't know how long it's been leaking, and it doesn't seem to be a big leak, but is some oil from the compressor side of the turbo normal, or indicative of trouble?

I've wiped it off as best I could so I'll get a better idea where the leak is. It just seems quite a bit of oil to be coming from the air side of the turbo, but maybe it's been seeping a while. I only noticed the leak after telling you on Sat night that it was reliable mate Laughing

Why would you get oil from the intercooler pipe? Surely it should just have fresh air in it. Unless the lab. seal (or whatever they are called nowadays) is leaking.

I believe a bit of oil in the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler is normal, but how much is too much I'm not sure.

Just from the turbo and into the intercooler I think. I've not noticed any getting up into the inlet manifold - any gunk in that area was from the egrs which are now blanked.
