Anyone running 265/70/17 BFG All Terrains?

Finally pick up my D3 tomorrow and as it will come with standard 17" rims I am thinking of fitting 265/70/17 BFG AT's. I know the tyres as I ran them on the Defender but do they fit OK on the D3 without rubbing? Alternative is the Cooper ST but as the BFG's are alittle bigger I am hoping they will be a better choice. I have a set of 19" rims but MTR's seem to be in short supply.

Andy,

I have a set of AT2'S 265/70/17 and they do slightly rub the front part of the rear arches.

Mine were brand new , but it proberly didn't help putting it in access hight quite alot.

They have stopped rubbing now ..proberly only for the first 500 - 1000 miles ..

I ran them on the road for about 4 weeks ( about 3000 miles) and lost about 3mpg Sad

The lettering was fitted to the outside ( not my choice as they were fitted ..but i was given the option of turning them around) .The lettering has faded slightly ..and to be honest i dont see them when im driving ..or when there covered in mud !!! Thumbs Up

Do you want pics of the tyres or the rubbing of the wheel arch ?

I also found that they were ok in the dry , but in the wet they felt a little more unstable than road tyres.

They look quite aggressive if a little on the large side, maybe I should stick to the Cooper STT Confused

RichardK runs BFG ATs in that size, and I run the Mickey T MTZ or ATZ in the same size too. No rubbing to report, although we both have the ARB bull bars which give you a little more clearance at the front of the front wheel arches.

Cheers,

Gordon
