My auto apparently has a clutch

I have a message on the screen saying that my car has a transmission fault - traction reduced.
Fault code read is P080A
Research tells me this DTC is clutch position not learned yet I have an auto box.
I cannot reset it, it is a permanent fault. Has anyone experienced this issue or is my bag of bolts really a vehicular hermaphrodite ?

Try relearning the clutch position calibration on the transfer box, as I think you are looking at the code from the transfer box not the ATCM

regards
Steve

G'day Derek, yeah it's been a while Shocked

Steve I wasnt sure if that would be the case or the E-diff.
I assume you mean this procedure
: Switch ignition to position II without the engine running
: Select automatic or manual transmission neutral
: Depress the throttle pedal fully
: Press and hold the range change switch for 5 or more seconds to allow calibration to start
: When the calibration is heard to start, the switch and throttle pedal can be released
: Upon adopting high range, start the engine and wait 30 seconds while the first calibration of the clutch in high
range is done. While this calibration process is in progress, no shifting is accepted
: Switch ignition off and wait 15 seconds
: Start engine
: Perform a range change to low range. Wait 30 seconds while the first calibration of the clutch in low range is
done. While this calibration process is in progress, no shifting is accepted
: Switch ignition off and wait 15 seconds
: Range and clutch calibration is now complete.
if so I can not change range (new fault) and nothing appeared to happen and I have many other weird faults, for example my sunroof moves too slow and is in the wrong position. I don't have a sunroof Rolling with laughter

Good to see you back. We’re pretty much the same as we were back in the day, just a little older, a bit less wise and definitely poorer. Laughing Thumbs Up

Have you iid to do the calibration?
If not perhaps check your transfer box ecu behind the battery for corroded multiplugs

No I do not, I am using a Faultmate for diagnostics. It appears now in the rear diff module so something may have gone awry with the diff motor.
The only code I get is P080A, just wondering if it might be linked to LTB00228 in any way.
Will need to pull the diff motor out when I next see the car.

Yep. I was forgetting the rear diff motor.
The fault code should be listed in the RDCM (rear differential control module), although the display says transmission fault.

The motors come out easily, unbolt & remove, clean up & see what happens

Motor comes
Out easy u are kidding me took me ages and the back bolts are a nightmare to get to
I admit there are only 4 10mm bolts but the back too are not too easy to get at had to take passenger side rear wheel off jack car up and let the wheel hub drop down loads of cuts but got to it
And that code is for the rear diff that’s for sure as that’s the code I had when I removed the wrong bolt to fill with oil lol

The back bolts are still hard to get too though easy if you can lift the body off slightly though

Maybe start a the beginning by doing a system reset (remove battery pos and neg and short together using a screwdriver) That's the cables not the battery terminals. Then check how things are.
