Auto Door locks - disabling

Hi,

Just obtained a new Disco 3 but need to disable the auto-door locking system (when you set off all the doors and boot lock). I don't have the audio buttons on the steering wheel to disable it (as per manual). Is this a dealer job and how long do you think it will take?

Sorry being a , Rolling Eyes bit thick here but are you refering to the speed-related locking feature (where over 5mph the doors lock) or are you refering to the single point entry system (where pressing the unlock button on the remote opesn the drivers door only and a 2nd press is required for the other doors) Question

No, i should have been specific. In fact i have learnt more after reading through this forum over the last 2 hours so now i know what single point entry is!

I am referring to the speed related locking mechanism.

If it's the speed locking, then without the audio buttons / settings menu it's off to the dealer (or an Autologic equipped independent like me! Wink ) although they should have asked you what configuration you wanted on the settings menu items prior to you collecting the vehicle
Should take less than an hour to carry out

Its a dealer job and should take a few mins to do.

They should have asked you how you want the D3 set up at hand over... they have a check sheet to go through (in theory).

Mind you... if by 'just obtained' you mean stolen... then you may not have a dealer to deal with Whistle

In the meantime, i think, you can use the master lock/unlock buttons on the dashboard to overide the speed locking function for the duration of the journey - or at least thats what the manual is telling me Very Happy

Mr. Black and Tan - you must have a slightly strange SE if you don't have steering wheel controls.

On my MY08 SE, this is a setting. Maybe this is a country thing.
There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

Can I just ask why you want it disabled?

Foranyone who travels a lot including night travel, it is an essential setting - also it is standard on most executive cars.

LEAVE IT ON.
Wish I had a D3, but at least I now have a Landie - YIPEE

If B.A.Y. for instance is a policeman, then it may not be advantageous to have the "passenger policeman" stuck in the passenger seat, until the driver has opened his door or until they've remembered to press the unlock button on the centre console.

Sure you get my drift....

Also, if he is a police or highways officer, it could cost valuable seconds in dealing with an emerency if needing to get into the boot, and forget to hit the unlock button before getting out of the car.
