I had a similar experience with the lacquer on my car roof.
Auto glass replaced the screen in the pouring rain so at first I didn’t notice. I then took a quick look and thought it was glue residue and I could just get it off with a bit of meths. Only when I tried to take the goo off, I realised it was the lacquer that had gone. This was about 2 months after the screen was repaired.
Auto glass were very good (albeit slow) and arranged for their own accident repair business to re-lacquer the whole roof. This was at their cost and not mine.
I couldn’t fault them for customer service after the problem occurred and their body shop people have been outstanding. D3 - 2008.5MY HSE, Stornaway Grey, RSE etc - all the toys
Grabber AT3s, Smoked Sweeping Side Repeaters
D4 Steering Wheel with BBS boards
IID BT Tool - happy to help with fault codes

My screen was fitted about 3 weeks before i bought the car. It is not a branded one and the heating element has never worked at all . But when i bought it in July that was the least of my problems The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the best of everything they have.
