Auto headlight problem
It seems to be taking longer for the headlights to automatically turn on, they normally come on just as I go into the Hatfield tunnel on the A1, and off just after exiting (as you'd expect), and the same on the two tunnels along the M25 between the A10 and the M11..........but they don't come on straight away, and then they don't turn off
Is something failed/failing, or can I reset something ?

They do seem to do odd things, ours had a weekend of bringing the lights on on bright sunshine (clean screen) has been fine since.

Mine switch themselves off as they should the 1st time after they've come on automatically. The next time they come on (in the next tunnel for example) they stay on until I turn the switch back to manual from automatic.
The dealer's looked at the problem half a dozen times in the last 3 years and has never been able to resolve it. even though the window may seem clean - the grease residue can effect the operation.

The driver can override the system operation by selection of side lamp or headlamp on if the ambient light conditions require front and rear lighting to be active. The automatic headlamp system uses a light sensor and the CJB, which are connected via the LIN bus to control the headlamp functionality.
A light sensor is incorporated in the rain/light sensor located on the inside of the windshield, below the rear view mirror. The wiper system also uses the rain/light sensor for automatic wiper operation.

The automatic headlamps are activated under the following conditions:
Twilight
Darkness
Rain
Snow
Tunnels
Underground or multistoried car parks.
Operation of the automatic headlamps requires the ignition switch to be in position II, the lighting control switch to be in the 'AUTO' position and a lights on request signal from the light sensor.
