| Autologic tune and service. |

hi all, just had the D3 tuned and serviced, thought i would share my views on the outcome.
The service has made the engine much quieter, smoother, ect so thats a big thumbs up.
as for the autologic.....
well i have to say im not that impressed, im not saying it isnt good, but its not what i had imagined....
having had a tuned td5 defender with a 30hp gain i was expecting much more difference with d3 from a 40+ gain.
it does have a tiny bit more pull, a tiny bit more acceleration and feels to be more driveable than before, being able to hold its speed at much lower revs.
by tiny i do mean tiny! its not like im in another vehicle, it doesent make the performace "much" better, you dont get a feeling of "power" and all in all its alot of money for a tiny gain, (IMHO)
However... the main noticable difference is the fuel economy, a big improvement ive not been out much yet to have a proper test but on a short journey 20miles or so, im gaining arround 6 - 8 MPg. so in a very short time the tune up will have paid for itself!
so to sum up from my other post!
is it any good? yes
can you feel a big difference? No
is it any faster? Not really.
is it nicer to drive? a tiny wee bit.
does it smoke? No
can i recomend it? yes. vehicle history = 6 rover metro's 1 LR discovery 200Tdi
2 LR Defenders TD5, and a Discoevry 3. + 2 ducati

who supplied the remap ??
I had Turbochip (autologic) and it made a BIG difference  Duncan

Who did the remap?
I have two separate remaps for my D3 which I can program as and when necessary.
The 'Light' remap does not emit smoke, the fuel consumption is better and the performance is A LITTLE BIT improved.....a bit livelier, but certainly not much more OOOOMPHH...
The 'Strong' remap smokes like a b  d, drinks the same amount of diesel as before (or maybe more) and pulls like a train....you can really notice the difference.

yea sounds like a little tikle of a remap to me to!
mt td5, pulled like a train as well, was very very quick and smoked like a train also. and that was 30hp re map
im not unhappy with my remap but as i have said it wasnt what i was expecting! i was expecting the smoke, power, and livliness i got with the td5 tune.
mind you im not looking for a sports car! its a landy after all. if i want to go fast ill just pop out on the Ducati's..
the extra £££ ill save on fuel for the landy can go into the bikes tank!
just thought i would give my thoughts on the matter, as you have said there MUST be very different remaps on the market, something i wasnt aware off.

yep the remap was done by Mike atkin 4x4, as i understand it its a bog standard Autologic remap?? could be wrong? vehicle history = 6 rover metro's 1 LR discovery 200Tdi
2 LR Defenders TD5, and a Discoevry 3. + 2 ducati

I thought Autologic just made the diagnostic kit to attach to the D3 rather than the actual remap  Cheers
