Automatic gearbox not selecting 6th between 100 and 130 km/h

I found something strange again. When driving between 100 and 130 km/h the gearbox is most of the time not selecting 6th gear. I can put it manually in 6th using command shift. And if I then go back to normal auto box (lever to the right) it stays in 6th gear. Untill I drive up a hill or something then it shift back.

Is this normal? It's a G4 so with roofrack but with goodyear HP tyres not MT's.

quite probable with roofrack. Mine did more often when I had a roofbox on. Thumbs Up

Do you think it is more fuel efficient to manual put it in 6th?
My first impression it is, but it is difficult to say as we don't have 100 km off straight road in The Netherlands so wind direction etc. will be a factor too.

Hi,

My G4 has the same behavior since his first day. No difference between Pirelli and MTR.
On motorway i put 6th manually and 5th when a hill comes.
6th stays in auto when i drive over 130 km/h Rolling Eyes

I also suppose A Bar, schnorkel and roofrack increase the airflow just too much for the software.
Because with a rear wind, the gearbox is quite perfect.
