How to remove front seats

Bloody carpets are wet again 🙄 drains cleared and working, air con drain clear and working and new door seals, so I thought I’d take the front seats out to dry the carpet and do some tests just need a how to from someone who has done this so I miss any problems

The seats (both front and rear) are very easy to remove. Simply unclip the plastic trims the cover bolts (often black plastic) and using a T50 torx bit (maybe T45) simply undo and remove. If you have electric remember to unplug that first.

to unplug wires, use a 8 or 10 mm socket on the connector at the front.

They are very heavy and difficult to get seat back in.

But if you remove the passenger one, and leave it out a few days, you will be able to see water traces on bare metal. (once to get it dry)

Five bolts each. The back ones go though the floor pan and may be rusty. Don't forget the seat belt mounting also.

To take the carpets out you'll need to do a lot more though.

The hardest bit is getting the plastic covers off at the start, a good long strong screwdriver is a help but it takes a lot of force. Also if you have electric seats loosen all the bolts BEFORE you unplug the electricity as it’s easier to undo the front seat bolts with the seat pushed fully back and it’ll be easier to undo the back ones with the seat fully forward. don’t forget you are dealing with airbags so you should disconnect the battery for at least 10 minutes before unplugging the seat.
