Aux input jack, not jacks
2 weeks old and loving it, no problems just can't think of enough reasons to go out in it.
However I read in the manual that my car (HSE 06) should have Aux input jacks on the rear of the centre console/cubby box, Mine does indeed have this, but only 1, a single 3.5mm socket and lighter socket, and not a number of connector as shown in the manual. Is this correct and the manual wrong or the other way around, or did I read the manual wrong.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

you'll probably find it has the * next to the picture / description which relates to the catch-all disclaimer of not all features being available in all markets (or in some cases not available at all )
Mine's an '06 MY spec and exactly the same
From what I understand you only get the additional AV sockets iff you have the DVD/Entertainment pack.
For what it's worth, mine is the same as yours.

I have the aux input jack as you describe next to the second row power socket.
However mine doesn't seem to work when i tried plugging in a media player and selecting ' AUX' input on the stereo. Some say the glass is half full. Others that it is half empty. I say 'Are you drinking that?"

Crank the volume up on your media player - on the iPod we've found you have to crank the iPod up and also crank up the volume on the stereo to the 16 level (instead of normal 8 or 9)Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Cheers, I'll give that a try before I make a fool of myself with the dealer. Some say the glass is half full. Others that it is half empty. I say 'Are you drinking that?"

Steve,
After your prior comment, does this mean that you found it does work?Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Yep - iPod sourced MP3's were playing through my stereo whilst in the snow last weekend - sadly some garbage my 15 year old son is into so it wasn't totally successful Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

FYI: The picture of the additional A/V inputs next to the AUX jack is actually part of the Range Rover Sport's factory dual screen 6-disc DVD changer "Rear Seat Entertainment" system. They allow the rear passengers to connect external A/V (game system, etc.) to their headrest display. That doesn't exist on Disco 3/LR3. As the vehicles are virtually identical, the documentation team often gets confused. 8)
