Transmission drone when off power/load

I’m fairly new to the Disco but when I on a fast road, I get a drone sound when I come off the accelerator. Partiularly when I’m on the overrun down a slight hill on the motorway or dual carriageway, I notice it more.

Under load on acceleration, it’s quiet.

When I take the box into neutral, it doesn’t change.

Any clues?

Can't tell if I'm imagining it, but I may be feeling it through the steering - just a little.

Maybe front diff??

Basically, everytime come off the throttle would get a drone from the front of the car, back on the throttle and would stop. Made no difference whether going around a corner or not and would happen in any gear (auto). Checked the front bearings and they were all OK, so only left with front diff. As soon as that war replaced all was good.

Mine is doing the same.

Been quoted £250 to get it reconditioned and will have labour on top as well.
Getting it done in May along with a list of other work needed.

Sure it not the normal torque converter noise?

well... when the diff was changed the drone went, and the oil that came out looked like sparkley sludge.

Oh yeah! didn't read that properly Whistle
Changed my oil over a year ago and I still get similar noise, diagnosed as TC.
