Battery Charge Light

Greetings

I have just replaced the battery after a failure on my TDV6 HSE. Drove around the a bit and suddenly the charge light on the dash has come on. Checked if the drive belt to the alternator and it is OK.

I noticed just prior to the light comming on that there was a speed related sound comming from the radio.

I have not driven the car since then

Any thoughts

I hope not...

Just recovered from replacing the exhaust cross-over pipe. An extremely expensive exercise.

Pretty much certain that if your battery has died recently, your alternator has caused it. Confused

agreed most likely alternator, check the fuse for it in the engine bay fuse box and check your charge rate, to confirm though,
