Battery draining in 48 hours

Hi all new to this site and a new land rover owner. Had the car 2 weeks now and got a problem I need help with. I have a disco 4 on 2010 and around every other day I go to start it and the battery is flat. Got receipt off previous owner that it had a new battery in November last year. Once jump started everything works fine with no issues at all. I. Inly doing 2 15 minute runs a day to and from work but wouldn't expect this to happen. Any help would be greatly appreciated

A 15 min run will not charge the battery from discharge when starting and jump starting will not recharge it. To start with, put battery on a charger for minimum of 24 hrs so that the battery is fully charged so that you have a good baseline to start with before investigating further. It is a very power hungry car

There’s the answer. Your battery is goosed, take it to Halfords, they will test it, find it faulty and offer you a new one. Refuse it and ask for an upgrade to the Halfords AGM, even if they insist you pay the extra £40

If you also check the reviews for this battery on the Halfords site, you will find many LR owners with the same issues.

The Varta is likely the best and it’s the Same as the LR branded versions you buy from the dealer. However you’ll be stuck with Halfords (they don’t sell anything other than YUASA and own brand (Halfords label on a Yuasa)) unless you want to write the YUASA off and go else where. Even if you do, at least take it in and have it tested. And as I’m sure it’s going to be sulphated beyond use, you could get a new one as a spare on the 5 year guarantee.

I'll just get a new one as a spare in that case. On the varta would it be the h3 or g3

This is the one you want, the G14 AGM, it’s not cheap but I’ve not heard anything bad about them. They are the original JLR supplier and they supply the MOD so they must be ok. When my current battery fails (likely to be in another 9 months if the previous 2 are anything to go by), this is the one I will get for peace of mind.

After changing a battery you should only need to reset the one touch windows and the date/time for the clock Thumbs Up
